ApoXoqA

Short Film - 2004

"ApoXoqA: It's not a film, it's an illness."

ApoXoqA is a short film produced in my final year of high school. It was filmed entirely during lunchbreaks using Murray's digital camera as a PC Cam. This meant we were tied to a PC by a USB cable at all times, which gave us some challenges.

The plot of the film was written by myself, and from this we filmed some key sequences and also some "dancing". Using a rather unlikable free video editing package, I spent a few lunchtimes assembling some kind of a film out of what we had done.

Its name is designed to have a central axis of symmetry, and is inspired by the title and cover of the Grateful Dead album "Aoxomoxoa. You will notice that it's structure is also semi-symmetrical, though this is more an accident than a result of careful planning.
